The opening and closing time of the United States Postal Service (USPS) is usually between morning and evening. Most locations are open from Monday to Saturday, and on some national holidays. Please note that USPS hours vary from one individual location to another. However, majority of its locations open and close under the hours and schedules we will be discussing below.
What Time Does USPS Close & Open?
Most USPS locations open at 8 a.m. and close at 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Saturday hours are usually between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. Post offices are usually closed on Sunday; however, delivery will be available. Keep in mind that USPS hours of operation may slightly differ from one location to another. Also, there are some national holidays and special events that may result to the adjustment of these hours and schedules.

USPS post office is open on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and it is usually closed on Sunday. Do not forget that weekend operating hours may also differ slightly in some areas. Some locations may have slightly modified hours on weekends.

USPS Holiday Hours
The United States Postal Service (USPS) will be closed on New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Thanksgiving and Labor Day. Other national holidays include Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day, Independence Day, Columbus Day and Christmas Day. However, it will open on Good Friday, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Although some locations usually close early on some of the holidays below.
