You can find your USPS tracking number in the following places:
- On the post office shipping receipt
- You can find it at the shipping confirmation email sent to you by the online store you bought your product/item from.
- If you’re shipping with USPS.com, it will be sent to you via email.

How to track your package with USPS tracking number
There are various ways through which you can track your package using by using USPS tracking number.
1. Online Tracking Method
To track your mailing package online, visit USPS official website – www.usps.com. In order for you to be able to track your package using this website, you must have a correct USPS tracking tracking number. As earlier mentioned above, a tracking number associated with your package or mailing item is the unique number assigned to that mailing item by a post office.
If you’re tracking a domestic shipment, it is absolutely free. However, some commercial USPS standard mailing may require you to buy additional service in order to track the package. Now, let’s go into details on how you can easily track your USPS package using the tracking number associated with your package.
STEP 1 – Go to USPS Official Site
Using your browser, go to usps.com. It looks just like the image below.
STEP 2 – Choose a Tracking Option
Now the next thing you’re going to do is to choose a tracking option. You can do this by moving your cursor over “Track & Manage.” Click on the first option which is “Track.” Also, you can use other methods by clicking on Quick Tool and then click on “Track a Package” or simply just enter your tracking number on the “Track a Package” option on the homepage.
STEP 3 – Enter Your USPS Tracking Tracking Number
Now enter your USPS tracking number into the box made available to you. You can enter up to 35 tracking numbers by using comma to separate each of them (this is in case you want to track different packages). After typing your tracking number, click the “Track Package” button. The current information about your package will be shown to you.
That’s it. Pretty easy right? It is recommended that you sign up. If you sign up, various additional features will be at your disposal – it gets better and easier. You can easily manage your packages – every update and notification will be shown on your dashboard.
2. USPS Tracking Through Phone

This is in case you don’t have access to internet in your current location, or you’re too busy with work to go online. It is easy and straightforward. One last thing, you can only call the aforementioned number during the following hours:
Monday to Friday – 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM ET.
Saturdays – 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM ET.
3. Track your package with mobile app

This method is another cool and handy way to track your packages, especially when you’re on the go. In most cases you might not have your laptop with you, that’s where this method will come into play. This method is quick and reliable. All you have to do is to download the USPS tracking app which you can use anytime/anywhere.

How Much Does USPS Tracking Cost?
You will not be required to pay any additional fee to track products or mail items which automatically include USPS tracking option. For example, if the online store you bought your product from supports USPS services, then you don’t need to pay any additional money. You only need to pay for the product’s postage and USPS tracking service will be automatically included free. However, just like I mentioned above, this is basically for domestic shipping. Hence, it may not be featured in international shipping or commercial shipping.
